Michael Callejas really wanted to make a change in his life, but the fear of failure kept getting in the way. Working 70 plus hours a week for a plumbing and electrical company wasn’t ideal, but he was afraid to let go of what he had in order to pursue something greater. But through determination and courage, Michael took the risk, and ultimately, he got the payoff.
Before USANA, Michael was working long hours and knew it wasn’t the life he had dreamt of. “My family had high hopes for me out of school, and I honestly felt like I had let them down with a dead-end job,” Michael admits. “As a kid I wanted the ideal successful life, but I felt like I was limited by what my boss was willing to pay.” Just working to “survive,” Michael really didn’t know what the next 10 years of his life would consist of. “I felt that companies were all about the bottom line and employee’s futures were not a priority,” Michael recalls.
Simply put, Michael’s advice is to never give up. “You must do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes,” he says. “Everyone learns at a difference pace and the key is to have patience.”
Reflecting on the past few years, Michael can identify a number of changes in his life. While some of them might be monetary, Michael’s more proud of the changes he has made in himself. “Financially, good things have happened,” he explains. “But more important than all of that is I am more effective in building great relationships with my loved ones because I can communicate with them better than ever.”
Although the economy might affect some people, Michael has a different view on things. “I believe there will always be a wealthy group and a poor group regardless of the economy,” Michael says. “There are so many opportunities in life, and we just have to be willing to try and stick with something that works.”
